Having just blogged about plucking up the courage to enter awards this year,  I’m absolutely delighted to have been awarded 3 Gold awards and 1 Silver award at the recent Food & Drink Devon 2017 Awards ceremony hosted by BBC Radio 2’s Nigel Barden on Monday 9 October.

My gold winning dishes were:

  • Homemade Christmas Pudding
  • Sticky Toffee Pudding
  • Caponata – Sicilian vegetable stew

And to go with the three golds, my Chicken in Sandford Orchards’ Cider took silver.

Clearly, I’m very proud of my puddings taking gold, but the greater achievement, for me, is the recognition for my savoury dishes because of my NO ADDED SALT ethos.  I think I’m really starting to get the message out that good food does not rely on seasoning with salt.  It’s a really good feeling.
